DIY Placemat Pillows

Holy smokes do I LOVE these pillows! My good friend Brooke from Re-fabbed taught them to me and I am quite obsessed with them now. They make the perfect addition to my couch and I love swapping them out with the seasons. I mean you can’t really go wrong with FOUR throw pillows for just under $15! Here’s what I used to make these pillows.

Placemats- I got a pack of 4
Poly Fill
Hot Glue Gun & Glue

I found these adorable placemats at Home Goods for $9.99! Man- that Ellen has some cute cute things. When you are looking for placemats to use make sure they have a back liner. If they have a liner you are good to go and can make them into cute throw pillows. Look at how cute these bunnies are up close. I love how simple they are.

So first step is to use a seam ripper and open up a little spot at the bottom. I only opened up about 1/3 of the bottom. This allows us to be able to put the poly fill into it. Here’s how much I opened it up. I cleaned up the seam by cutting the extra threads as well. The first pillow I did, I opened it right up at a corner. I was able to still make a sharp corner but with the second one I made the slit in the middle and it was much easier.

Next up is filling it. Fill it to your desired fullness. This is all personal preference. I would suggest really using your finger or a pencil to make sure you get your corners well. Once its stuffed to your liking its time to hot glue the seam shut again. Its that EASY!! Check out below for the finished product. Again there are only two pictured here on my couch but each pack of placemats make 4!

Aren’t they just the best??!! I would love to hear where you plan on making pillows for in your house! Comment below and THANK you for checking the new blog out.
